Usk trees are fruit-bearing hardwoods. Mature specimens average 8 to 9 feet in diameter and 50 to 60 feet in height. Their tough and flexible leaves can be used for many purposes.

Uskfruit appears in early summer and remains on the branches until the first frost. It is blue in color (pale at first), with three lobes. Ripe, it it is about the size of a large grapefruit, bright blue, and gives off a sweet smell. Uskfruit is loved by most creatures.
