James M. Ward (born May 23, 1951), is an American game designer and fantasy author. He is most famous for his game development and writing work for TSR, Inc., where he worked for more than 20 years. In 1989 he was inducted into the Academy of Adventure Gaming Arts & Design Hall of Fame. From 2000 - 2005, he was President of Fast Forward Entertainment, an independent game development company. Since 2008, Ward has also been in the position of Managing Editor of the Troll Lords Games magazine The Crusader.
