Pistis Sophia is a powerful archon.
Description
The order of Thrones is ruled by the Tome Archons or Hebdomad, who each rule an entire layer of Mount Celestia. Pistis Sophia, the archon of wisdom whose symbol is the Eagle, rules Solania.
Realm
Pistis Sophia, called the Ascetic due to her monk-like tendencies, holds no abode but travels the misty hills of her layer, helping out all who greet her along the way.
Creative origins
Pistis Sophia is named after the Pistis Sophia, a Gnostic text thought to have been written between the 3rd and 4th centuries CE. Furthermore, the female divinity of Gnosticism is known as Sophia, and the concept of the Hebdomad itself also comes from Gnosticism, though the names of the Gnostic archons differ from those found in the game.
